The ‘Age of Aquarius’ has become a cultural meme signifying the New World, the end of old ideas and birth of new technologies. The absolute transformation of the world over the last hundred years is signified by the transition from the astrological age of Pisces, to that of Aquarius. The idea of a New Aeon beginning at this time is found all throughout occult movements and religions. The Fraternitas Saturni (FS), or Brotherhood of Saturn, is one such occult organization that saw itself as inaugurating the beginning of a New Aeon. However, their view of the Age of Aquarius, was far more stern than that of the popular song.
Aquarius is under the dominion of Saturn, who the brotherhood identifies as Satan, the demiurge and ruler of this world. In their eyes, this makes the Age of Aquarius an inherently Satanic world order. The membership of the FS was said to be a ‘who’s who’ of the German elite, including many wealthy industrialists. The FS has been called “the most unabashedly Luciferian organization of the 20th Century,” a reputation that would later garner the interest of Michael Aquino, a military intelligence officer famous for his work in psychological warfare.
In 1995 Michael Aquino published a rare essay called “The Secrets of Fire & Ice,” which was intended as a supplement to Stephen Flowers book ‘Fire & Ice,’ the first english account of the FS, a book which Aquino also helped to publish. Aquino speaks on his “journey to the Saturnian mysteries,” which he describes as beginning when “Saturnian materials came to light during my stay in Germany. Some were being published at the time by a small press, while others came through more private channels.” While Aquino was never formally initiated into the FS, he was initiated into the Armanen Orden, a neo-nazi fraternal order lead by FS members and heavily influenced by its ritual methods. He claimed that he was “well acquainted with a number of high initiates in the Brotherhood” and they approved of his essay as an accurate depiction of the order. Referencing Gregor Gregorius, the founder of the FS, Aquino writes:
“subterranean deities were most usually placated with human sacrifices which were conducted in conjunction with sexual orgies.“
The fact that this was written in an approved history of the FS, while quoting its founder, is very revealing as to the dark practices of the order. It is shocking to think that ‘the who’s who‘ of the German elite would be involved in such things, and equally shocking that a high ranking official in the United States military would openly identify with this lineage, yet it is documented history.
Although the FS refused to give Aleister Crowley a leadership position in their ranks, they did acknowledge him as a prophet of the New Aeon, holding his Book of the Law as a sacred text, despite making one alteration. They changed Crowley’s dictum “love is the law” to “compassionless love is the law.” In Michael Aquino’s commentary on this alteration in “the law,” he writes:
“Clearly the recent history of the domestic social policies of the United States of America shows the virulent and destructive power of compassion. Small evils are magnified to overwhelming evils through the application of compassion.”

Albin Grau, an adept of the Fraternitas Saturni, founded ‘Prana Film’ in 1921. While Grau planned to release several films propagating occult information to his audience, Nosferatu ended up being the only film that the company ever released. The name “Prana Film” refers to the Indo-Aryan name of the life force that animates all things, Prana. The concept of Prana resembles the universal life force of Paracelsus, and the Animal Magnetism of Franz Anton Mesmer, concepts that Grau was surely familiar with. However he went with the “spirit of the age” and chose the Yin Yang and the Sanskrit word ‘Prana’ for his logo. As we know, German occultists in the early 1900’s were obsessed with eastern symbolism, due to their belief in a shared ancient aryan heritage, the most famous example, of course, being the Nazi swastika.
Grau was responsible for the imagery of Nosferatu, from its set-design and costumes, to its posters. His design for the costume of Nosferatu was based on the lodge-daimon of the FS, and egregore known as the GOTOS. The Brothers of Saturn would work to magically empower the GOTOS through (sexual) ritual & (blood) sacrifice. Their lodge work consists of communicating with this entity and implementing in the material world. They work to empower the GOTOS and they believe that the GOTOS empowers them in return. The GOTOS is not the Demiurgos Saturnus, but rather an egregore created by the lodge, its invisible leader and emissary on ‘the other side.’ Initiates of this tradition practice arts intended to create spiritual entities through ritual sex magic, as all beings are generated through sex, the strongest expression of Prana. These entities were nourished through blood sacrifice and sexual ritual, where Prana or life force, is directed toward them, feeding and empowering them on the spiritual plane, and creating a link to the physical plane. Blood, semen, and cerebrospinal fluid contain the most Prana of any physical substance, making these fluids are the most valuable offering. Such practices occur throughout the ages on every continent, for there is not a nation on earth whose ancestors did not once upon a time spill blood as a gift to their gods. This still occurs in many places to this day, whether openly or in secret.
This form sexual magic was taught by societies such as the OTO and FS leading up to WWII, when fraternal orders throughout Europe were shut down. Some of them survived in secret, others were restored after the war, and many were destroyed along with their history. The FS was restored after the war and still operates today. After the war the FS changed its stated policy, no longer barring Jews from membership. Before the war, membership was only available to “Christian” men, which in that context simply meant non-Jews, as these men clearly weren’t Christian.
In the image above, FS founder Eugen Grosche is photographed holding an FS journal next to a Menorah, the 7-branched candelabrum often symbolizing Judaism. Due to the anti-semitic nature of the FS, I found this curious. He likely saw it as a s symbol of Saturn. The Hebrew word for Saturn is Sabbatai (שבתאי), the root of which is “Saba” (שבע), meaning seven, hence the holy 7th day of the week being the Sabbath, taking place on Saturday, or Saturn-day. This associates the 7 branched candelabrum with the Seven days of Creation culminating the Sabbath, and the 7th heaven, presided over by Saturn, or Sabbatai. This Saturnism culminated in the messianic movement of Sabbatai Tzvi, who declared a new aeon under the dominion of Saturn, and a new moral code. I mention this because it is significant to note that Saturn is at the core of both Proto-Nazi groups like the FS, and Proto-Zionist groups like the Sabbatians.
Rudolf Steiner, another German occultist from this era, invoked ancient Zoroastrian themes and proposed a gnostic dualism very similar to that of the FS, where Lucifer is the positive polarity embodying light, and Ahriman or Satan is the negative polarity, embodying darkness and evil. The FS viewed Lucifer and Satan as the 2 polarities of Saturn, the Demiurge. Steiner’s depiction of Ahriman is eerily similair to the GOTOS and Grau’s depiction of Nosferatu.
